Talk on Annular Solar Eclipse that would be happening and visible from India on the 26th December 2019 for the students of class 5. Speaker for the day: Kedar Kulkarni. The students were taught that the Solar Eclipse is a pure and natural phenomenon which occurs once in a while when the moon blocks the Sun and its shadow is cast on the earth.
The students were briefed on the path of the Annular, along with places and distance of Annularity. They were also briefed on Partial Eclipse visible in rest of India with percentage of visibility. From Goa 88.04% of Eclipse will be visible.
The students of class 5 pledged on using safe means to observe the eclipse as unsafe means can damage the eyes. The next Total Solar Eclipse visible in India would be in the Year 2034
