INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY 2019

VENUE: – Multipurpose Hall, Manovikas English Medium High School.

International day of yoga (common yoga protocol) was celebrated on FRIDAY the 21stof June 2019 in our schools multipurpose hall. We had a total 100 students who whole heartedly participated in this event.

It was performed by the students of class VII. Not only the students but also the teachers took an active part in executing it.

The chief guests for this event were the principals of the different sections of our school.

Tr. Brenda Bhandary. (PRE-PRIMARY SCHOOL)

The session was anchored by  students from Std. VIth  & VIIth  Their names are as follows-

  • ANIKA KUMAR ( Std VII B )
  • ADRIAN SANTIMANO  ( Std VII B ) &
  • SAANVI KAMAT (Std VI A)

Along with two students who gave demonstration on all the asanas:-

  • SHVENA BORKAR ( Std VI A )
  • SIDDHARTH BHANDARI ( Std VI C)

The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the principals of the different sections. The detailed introduction of the fourth International Yoga Day was made by Miss- Saanvi Kamat of Std VI A, followed by a small speech on Yoga by the Principal of the Secondary School Section Smt. Srabonee Thakar.

Our Physical education teacher Sir. Anup Vernekar (M.P.Ed, YOGA (C.C.Y, Kaivalyadham) started the yoga with warm up exercises followed by a Prayer accompanied by Sir Ashish Shirodkar (B.P.Ed) and Tr. Vijayshree Naik (B.P.Ed). It was followed by different Yoga Asana’s specified by the D.S.Y.A in the given chart /booklet. Our Principals Smt. Srabonee Thakar (Secondary School Section) and Smt. Pallavi Buyao (Primary Section) took active part in all the asanas and meditation..

Every asana performed was accompanied by meditation that was guided by Sir Anup Vernekar. He also explained the health benefits of yoga.every asana performed was followed by a detailed explanation on its health benefits if performed as a daily routine.

Next Sir Praveen Motre displayed a short movie that enlightened the audience on the history, forms, energies of yoga and how yoga continues to spread all over the world as a source of peace and well being.

The event was concluded by our students performing advance asanas of yoga ,followed by a Vote of Thanks
