Goa Revolution Day- 18th June 2021

Goa Revolution Day was celebrated on 18th June, 2021, as this day is an important part of Goa’s history. It is a day when we pay respect to Goa’s two most important freedom fighters.

Tr. Annapurna spoke on the significance of this day, and Tr. Vanifa

gave a speech in Konkani, while quoting few lines from a poem written by Manohar Rai Sardessai. Significance of this day was highlighted as, on 18th June 1946 at Margao, Dr Ram Manohar Lohia, and Dr Julião Menezes started the Civil Disobedience Movement against Salazar’s dictatorial regime. This led to lighting up the suppressed patriotic feelings of Goans into a mass revolution.

The assembly ended with the singing of the National Anthem.
