I am Ashita Singh from class X B. Art has been a huge part of my life since my childhood. I started off just like any other regular child, scribbling circles on the four walls of my room. At that time I thought that making mountains with a sun rise and basic huts was the most complicated thing ever. And now, here I am describing my art experiences.
At first I didn’t take art very seriously, I drew for fun, until I saw my art teacher, Tr. Deborah’s creative art-works. She never sat idle, she always had a paper and pencil in her hand and creative thoughts in her mind, and that’s what inspired me the most. I can surely say that my art has improved very much since the day I met her. The Covid-19 pandemic gave all of us a lot of leisure time to discover ourselves in many ways. With this leisure time in hand I put my ideas on paper. The first step towards making art my passion was to create an account on social media to promote my art works. I started collaborating with a few other artists I met online. This helped me grow as an artist, I found different styles and learned the diversity of art. I started contesting in all sorts of art competitions organized by my school and my father’s office. Well, I won most of the competitions. I developed my art skills during the Inktober month; in the month of October an official list of prompts are sent  out and artists from all over the world convert them into art pieces everyday.
The biggest accomplishment in the field of art for me so far is the first place trophy I won at the state-level art competition organized by the Forest Department, Goa Government. They facilitated me with a trophy and a certificate in an award ceremony at the Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary, Canacona.
So, this is how I have grown as an artist, from being the first place winner at a colouring competition to being the first place winner of a State-level art competition, But hey, I’m not done yet, I have a lot in my kitty to show the world!
