Holi Celebration

Holi is considered as one of the most revered and celebrated festival of India. The vibrancy of colours is something that brings in a lot of positivity in our lives. It is known as ‘Festival of Colours. It celebrates the victory of good over evil. This festival of colours ushers in the season of Spring as well. Colours bring happiness in each of our lives and so we celebrate the festival of Holi with great pomp. Due to the current pandemic, grand celebrations are at a halt; Nevertheless, the spirit and essence of the festival thrives and glows through even with social distancing, as seen through the virtual Holi celebration Activities held throughout the primary section.
-To make the festival more colourful, teachers of Class 1 conducted Holi activity wherein the students had to make a colourful bookmark. The activity was conducted through a virtual meet and all eco-friendly materials were used.
-To commemorate this festival the students of Class 2 along with their respective Class Teacher, drew a Holi Pichkari and coloured it using eco-friendly materials during an online session conducted for the same.
-To sprinkle this joy of colours, a thread printing activity was organized for students of class 3. Thread printing activity uses a thread, preferably wool, that is dipped in different poster colours thus creating a design by folding the paper and pulling the thread. A print of all colours creates many such interesting designs. The activity was demonstrated through a video wherein all materials used and techniques to conduct the thread printing activity were explained to the students with examples of other creative designs.
-The teachers of class 4 presented the recipe of a traditional sweet dish known as ‘Puranpoli’ traditionally prepared for this festival in Goa. Chef Vinayak demonstrated the method of preparing this scrumptious sweet.
