The Special Educators of the Life Skills Resource Room conducted a workshop for the parents of their students on Saturday, the 2nd of July 2022. The workshop was also attended by The Director, Mrs. Mayalin Noronha, the Principals of the School, Special Educators of the Academic Resource Room and the Counselors.
The topic of the workshop was “Prevocational and Vocational Centre.” Our resource person was Mrs. Eunice D Souza, Special Educator from Lourdes Convent School, Saligao.
Mrs. Eunice has been actively involved in the field of special education since the year 2003. She has set up the first Vocational Centre in an inclusive set up in Goa in the year 2013.
During the workshop Ma’am spoke to us regarding the need for a prevocational and vocational Centre, the functioning of a centre, the administrative and financial aspects of starting a centre and the importance of planning a future for our children. She also shared the work they do at their centre and how it functions.
Ma’am Eunice shared pictures via a PPT and displayed the products as well. Her session was very interactive and we had an enriching ‘Question and Answer’ session.
The workshop ended in two hours and we left with a sense of positivity and purpose.
