The Special Educators and Students of the Life Skills Resource Room attended the Purple Fest organized in Panjim on the 6th of January 2023. We were accompanied by parent volunteers.
The Purple Fest was organized by the office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities in association with the Directorate of Social Welfare and Entertainment Society of Goa.
The Fest was organized from 6th to 8th January 2023. It was an inclusive and accessible event that aimed to showcase how we can come together to create a welcoming and inclusive world for everyone.
Persons with Disabilities and their contributions were at the heart of it all. The festival included grand exhibitions, immersive experience zones, screening of movies, panel discussions, artistic live performances and sale of products made by persons with disabilities.
The teachers, students and parents engaged in a host of activities, like immersive experience zones, visiting the ADIP camps, watching awareness movies and engaging in various games.
We were accompanied by a group of mainstream students, academic resource room teachers and a regular teacher.
