FIT INDIA SCHOOL WEEK

Physical fitness is just as important for children as learning letters and numbers. Before the advent of televised distractions, children were often found outside the house playing in parks and even on the streets. But what really reduced playtime drastically was the arrival and rapid spread of the Internet. Online games and social networks have turned out to be an addiction that the new generations have fallen prey to. Childhood obesity, depression and diabetes in children have become far more common today than they were earlier.

In fact, physically active students are healthier and have been found to be better in academics as well. Keeping this view in mind “Manovikas English Medium School” has celebrated “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, the 3rd edition of school week from 8th December to 12th December 2021. The week comprised of several fitness related activities such as Poster Making, Zumba, Yoga, Games and Sports for students and teachers as follows:

Day 1- POSTER MAKING
Children’s day was well celebrated by engaging students in Poster making competition.

Day 2- ZUMBA (Traditional Dance)
Zumba is one of the most fun and versatile fitness crazes to come along in a long time,
which not only helps an individual to tone the body but also helps to destress. Many
forms were included such as bangda, garba etc each and every person present out
there participated with full energy and zeal.

Day 3- INDIGENOUS GAMES AND ACTIVITIES FOR the SPECIALLY ABLED
Competition for Students in Traditional/Indigenous/Regional Games was
conducted in the school to celebrate the Unity in Diversity of our Nation
and to maintain and strengthen the fabric of traditionally existing emotional
bonds between the people of our Country.

Children enjoyed playing "Traditional Games “such as standing kho-kho and Tug of
War.

Day 4- BRAIN GAMES

Games keep our brain cells always active and remove our mental fatigue, keeping this
view in mind we organized different brain challenging games for students and teacher in
fact everybody enjoyed every activity with zeal and enthusiasm.

Day-5 Yoga
A calm mind is the ultimate weapon against any challenge in life. But it is challenging to
remain calm. WE can achieve calmness of Mind only by Yoga and Meditation. Keeping
this view in mind we at Manovikas organised Yoga session for Teachers and Students.

Day 6 – Zumba and fitness pledge.
Finally, the week was concluded with a session of Zumba and fitness pledge wherein
students and teachers participated collectively.

All of these activities encouraged and challenged the participants to live a more fit and
healthy lifestyle.
