The Portuguese and French Day was celebrated on the 14th of July, where a plethora of events were lined up for the Portuguese and French students from standards 5th to 8th. The day began with the French Assembly where teacher Caroline made a speech about the importance of the 14th of July to the French citizens. This was followed by a Skit where the students displayed the events that took place on the 14th of July 1789. The French national anthem was played, and the French events concluded with a fashion parade on the 18th Century French attires. We had kings, queens, bourgeois civilians and even historical figures like Napoleon Bonaparte. The Portuguese Day events began with a speech about the Portuguese Day, followed by the playing of the Portuguese national anthem and a Traditional

Portuguese Dance. The Assembly was concluded with the school band playing the Indian National Anthem.

The Portuguese singing competition ‘Vamos Cantar’ took place after the Assembly in the Hall. The judges were introduced and we began with the solo singing competing that preceded the groups’ performances. Simultaneously, the Portuguese and French Cuisine was being displayed in front of the CSTI Lab, and French and Portuguese Art was showcased in the Art room. The last event of the day was a Portuguese Spelling Bee competition conducted by Teacher Jeffy.
