75th Independence Day Celebration

Published On: August 15, 2021

On Sunday, 15 th August, 2021, Manovikas School joined the nation in celebrating India’s 75th Independence Day. This year we not just looked back at the glories of our past but also took time to reflect on the present and envision a brighter future.
Along with the dignitaries, the teaching and administrative staff, we had students and parents who joined the ceremony Online. As the national tri-color was hoisted, we celebrated the achievements of our athletes at the Olympic Games 2021, Japan, as well as all those who have over the years worked selflessly to serve the nation. The Chief Guest for the occasion was the Principal of our Secondary School Mrs. Maria Norman. Her speech entailed the responsibilities of us as Indian citizens and the need to utilize our freedom towards nation building.
Two choirs regaled the gathering, with their songs on peace, humanity and unity. The Hindi Choir performed “Aye Watan, Watan Mere” from the movie Raazi; while the English Choir performed their rendition of the song, “Together as One” written by Neil D’Cruz – a Goan song writer, performer and teacher.
We wish each one of you Happy Independence Day.
